Well dad decided that it was time to have some family fun and actually get out of the house. The weather was supposed to be beautiful and it's hard to fit family fun on the weekends sometimes.
So we took the girls bowling for the first time (in real life, wii bowling apparently does not count!). The girls had the benefit of bumpers for both games. No one did too well the first game, the 3 girls all scored less than 80, dad scored 90's. The second game was much better everyone scored 100 or better. Adrienne finally got around to actually picking up the ball and throwing down the alley instead of rolling from the line. Kierstin worked hard the entire time swinging that 6 lb ball down the alley and using the bumpers to her advantage.
Later in the week, we went roller skating with some of the Ritchie's. Thanks again Kelly for the invite/reminder. David donned skates this time immediately and I finally caved and skated too. Kelly said she'll try next time! David only fell a few times, I managed to stay upright the entire time and actually have some speed. Each time is a little better for the girls, maybe by the end of summer they'll have it. Now only if I could get them to learn to ride a non training wheel bicycle.
Next was the promised return trip to Rainforest Cafe and play lunar mini golf (glow in dark). Well it was a bad idea to go to R.C. on Good Friday, even arriving at 3 pm yielded a 2 hour wait. But a promise was made so we hung on, imagine that me being patient. We walked around the mall grabbed an item we needed and headed for Build a Bear to use the birthday coupons sent. We checked out the lunar golf and decided it would be much better to visit the outside course we like for less money and more variety. The idea is nice of playing in a black lite places with crazy paint job but a 2 year old would have had an easy time with those holes. So we enjoyed dinner luckily being seated right next to one of the tropical fish tanks and then headed for a better mini golf course.
Lastly was the all important city Easter extravaganza. Well that was a bust, they changed the location and timing and didn't go so well. Maybe it didn't help that Miss Margie was otherwise engaged with family and couldn't join Kierstin as usual. So we opted to do some in the yard with the neighbor. He's 4 and completely in love with the girls and always wants to be with them and do what they are doing!
All in all it was good week. David was able to take a couple days off the enjoy spending time with the girls. And the roof got replaced without completely messing up his sleep schedule. But I'm ready for the girls to be back in school for another nine weeks because I need to build some tolerance and ideas to keep them from driving all of us crazy.
