2nd Piece of Halloween Fun

Ok so here's our 2nd Halloween event this year. A safe, family fun event at the YMCA. There are a handful of games and the best part it's inside don't have to worry about the weather. The girls enjoyed winning at the Cake Walk and getting snacks from local businesses. Here it's mostly prizes instead of candy, yeah for the teeth!

Adrienne choose to be Cho Chang, a Harry Potter character, after attending Potter Fest this summer. Kierstin wanted to be an angel but not the homemade version I was trying to push. Really was not in the mood to spend the kind of money retailers we asking for their version of Angels. Luckily, a friend of Kierstin's had beautiful Angel costume they were willing to share. A special thanks goes to the King's for their generosity!!

The girls are lucky this year, 3 Halloween events to participate. If I had spent money on costumes this year it would have been worthwhile. But I think we've had enough damage done to the savings account this year, so the break on costume expenses was wonderful. -S

School Carnival

The wonderful PTA for our school hosted a Halloween Carnival Friday night. All of us were there the entire time, some of the time spent having family fun and some of it working. We were lucky to have wonderful weather for the evening too! Kierstin's friend Margaret came with us due to her brother having a last of the season Tball game at the same time. The attached picture is our little group for the evening (once Nathan's game was finished and he arrived). Even dad participated in the dressing up! We had Chick Fil A sandwiches, nachos, drinks including Starbucks Coffee and Hot Cocoa, and sweets. There were tons of games, bounce houses, a dunk tank with teachers, arts & crafts, costume contest, and a bootiful beauty salon. Kierstin's winning streak at Cake Walks still stands too! My friend, Kathleen had the vision early this summer and it was fantastic. She planned and executed a great event this year, the expectations bar is set high now but I'm sure she'll out do it next year. -S

Experience McKinney

Experience McKinney was held again this week. We've been two years in a row and it's a lot of fun. The event is put on by the school district to raise funds for the McKinney Education Foundation. Experience McKinney has lots of area restaurants there to showcase their wares, bounce houses and a trackless train for the kids, and performances by school bands/choirs/staff members. This year two new items for fun arrived: Rock Wall and Trampoline Bounce. The girls of course wanted to try both.

We wished Dad was able to attend but no days off left! He wouldn't have liked standing in line for 1 hour waiting to do the trampoline fun!! Our friend Kristina does a great job organizing the event and keeping things smooth and fun. -s
