Reading Night

Again our PTA hosted a wonderful family event, Reading Night. The kids come to school in pajamas and slippers and hear stories from teachers. We had a local author visit the campus to talk about the book she wrote, Collin McKinney. It's nice to have an author come and talk to the kids about the writing process and the importance of building those skills early in life. The principals kept our kiddos busy listening to stories while the PTA conducted the business portion of the evening. Then they were off, with milk and cookies, to hear stories and complete a questionnaire about the story they heard to earn prizes (books of course). It's always fun to go to school in pajamas and have cool snacks. My great friend Kathleen has done an amazing job the last couple years putting together all the family events. One more for her then I'm filling her shoes, they are quite detailed and wonderful I hope I can do it as well! -S
