Today our elementary school celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday by participating in Read Across America again. We are lucky to have wonderful staff that really push the importance of reading. Dr. Seuss' birthday is March 2nd but due to TAKS testing we bumped it up a week. Our Art Specialist dresses as Cat in the Hat and our PTA provides snacks for visiting readers. We are also lucky to be the only school in town that hosts the event so we get the 'big' administrators visiting our campus. David has read to several classes every year and plans to do so at least until our kids leave elementary school. The best of this reading event is seeing the educators bringing in their favorite books to share with the kids, sometimes Dr. Seuss and sometimes not. Either way it's a fun couple of hours for everyone! We are glad to be a part of it, and Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!
