Drama really begins

This evening I attended a very 'balanced' holiday program called "December in Our Town." It is a story about the different holiday traditions practiced within town: Channukah, Kwanzaa, and Christmas. I say I attended because the girls were in the program. Adrienne being in 4th grade was able to audition for a speaking role. Anyone in 2nd grade and up was allowed to participate with parental approval. Adrienne did win a speaking role and was quite proud of her accomplishment. She had about 12 lines of varying length throughout, along with her singing duties with the school choir. She was required to attend rehearsals 1 hour before school for several weeks. She learned her lines quickly and even learned just about everyone else's lines. Kierstin was a featured dancer in one number with about seven other 2nd graders. She was quite pleased too. Luckily, Joni arrived earlier than I and saved me a second row spot and the seat in front of me was not taken until we placed the video camera there. Stephanie Mullen, Joni, Trish, and I had 30 plus minutes of time to visit while we waited. It was nice to have a great seat and grown up conversation! Thanks Gals!

Now if I'm ever smart enough to figure out how to collect a video from the video I will certainly place it for you to enjoy. We can certainly see how Adrienne will be filling her extracurricular time in 6th-12th grade, DRAMA department. It was a wonderful evening, even if we couldn't really hear the kids (no mics). BRAVO, BRAVO, my brave girls!! I will be able to add a picture later so check back, I forgot the still camera so I've gotta get a pic from Trish. Boy is she a picture life saver! -S

Steph, I could really tell that Adrienne knew her stuff! They both did an outstanding job, and the muscial was so much more entertaining than previous holiday programs! I enjoyed the visiting, too!
