Family Fun Day

We did it! We actually left the house and did something fun the whole family!!!! The union David belongs to through work hosts a picnic every year. We attended it last back in 2004 and haven't been back because he's always working on Saturdays! We lucked out and he got a Saturday off without asking for it for a particular event or activity, woo hoo, and it was great weather. So we got everyone up, ate breakfast, dressed, and headed to Double D Ranch about a 50 minute drive from home. They had a 3 meat BBQ picnic with brisket, chicken, and sausage; mac and cheese (the kind with super fat noodles and so much cheesey sauce it makes grown up tummies wobble); baked beans, dill potato salad, and rolls (and cobbler). Kierstin tried and loved the chicken, thank goodness because her breakfast had worn off before we even arrived. Adrienne loved the mac n cheese, of course, carb girl all the way! The ranch has a mini golf, playground, pony rides, petting zoo, volleyball pit, bounce house, hayride, barrel ride, and paddle boats. We just about did them all! It was a lot fun getting everyone out for a day of fun, even if when we arrived all we heard was how this was not going to be a Family Fun Day.
